I am all set. My iPod has been refreshed with latest music, batteries are fully charged, my new big back pack is fully loaded. I am leaving to Rajastan on 16th. I will be on ten day vacation to Rajastan visiting Jaisalmer , Pushkar ( Yup Pushkar Fair), Ajmir and Jaipur. I am sure going to get hundreds of pictures and lot of videos from Pushkar and Jaisalmer. This will be my first visit to Thar deserts. I am all charged up.

Jaisalmer, the “Golden City”, is located on the westernmost frontier of Indian subcontinent in the state of Rajasthan. Close to the border with Pakistan, the city is known for its proximity to the Thar Desert. Desert Safari in the sand dunes of Jaisalmer is an unforgettable experience.

Like my previous stories from North East India; I am going to post series of stories from Rajastan this time. I will try to live blog from the fair. I heard food along the train journey is awesome. So for sure there will be some posts on food. I am planning to post everyday. Follow me on Twitter or blog not to miss any post. You can get the posts directly to your inbox too.

About Pushkar Fair - Every November, the sleepy little township of Pushkar in Rajasthan, India comes alive with a riot of colors and a frenzied burst of activity. The occasion: PUSHKAR FAIR. Very few, if at all any, fairs in the world can match the liveliness of Pushkar. Most people associate the Pushkar Fair with the world’s largest camel fair. But it is much more than that.

Here is the plan as of now
Day 1, Day 2 : Travel by train and bus
Day 3, Day 4: Jaisalmer
Day 4, Day5, Day6: Ajmir and Pushkar
Day 7, Day8: Jaipur
Day 9: Fly back to Bangalore

fillter kaapiMy daily coffee consumption is around 3 cups on a working day. I dont usually drink coffee at home other than weekends. At home it is filter coffee.

Filter Coffee or South Indian Filter coffee or kaapi is part of culture in Karnataka or TN. It is customary to offer a cup of kaapi to guests. Nothing beats kaapi and masala dose as evening chat combo. So kaapi is during those peaceful family gatherings or during saturday evening movie time.

Espresso (at home we call decoction kaapi. We make only when there is no option of getting milk) is my 3pm coffee. Thats when you would have lots of work to finish at office. My every coding session ends with a Espresso. Its highly addictive and no other coffee comes on par once you get addicted to it. Espresso is from Italy. It contains double the caffeine content compared to regular coffee but usually served in lesser quantities. An average serving size is 30ml called shot. I usually take 2 shots of espresso with a shot of hot water (all most Americano). Its a good companion for night-outs (long coding sessions during the night).

Its been seven months I started blogging at ThejeshGN.com. This blog was initially on techmag and got moved to this domain this April. TechMag remains completely tech oriented now. Since april this domain has been my mouthpiece. Here are some stats about this blog and some targets to achieve.

  • As of today page rank is 3. I would like it to be 5 in an years time.
  • 140 posts with 300 comments. On an average two per post.
  • Alexa traffic rank as of today is 1,458,828. Would like to break into top 500000 sites in an years time.
  • 40+ RSS feed and 10+ email subscribers.Go ahead subscribe to get the latest posts as soon as they get published. I need at least 250+ by next year.
  • Ranks No#1 on Google for “Thejesh GN”. I want it to be No#1 for both Thejesh and Thej

Numbers are not bad for seven months. But there is lots to improve.

WordWeb is a dictionary and word finder. Its one of those very useful freewares. When you want to install the Word Web Pro freeware version then you have to agree for a license ( of course everybody has that I agree checkbox). Here comes the interesting part. To get a free version you must agree to the following

Pretty cool. They have an explanation for this kind of licensing

Various people have questioned the WordWeb 5 licensing terms. It is true that targetting flights and SUVs is a very crude measure; many people’s CO2 emissions come mostly from their home due to inefficient heating, insulation or air conditioning. However the licence is designed to be easy to understand, and sufficiently simple that people will know immediately whether or not they satisfy it. If you break the licence you are certainly responsible for more emissions per person than are sustainable, and you can certainly afford to buy the Pro version. The licence is not telling you what to do: that is up to you, but if you don’t satisfy the licence you need to pay.
