Day 11: Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market

This was supposed to be our hiking day but we were tired of all the travel, so we converted it into a rest day. We were in an orange orchard and the owners also lived there. They couldn't speak any English but were a very friendly couple. I love oranges. I pointed at the oranges once and I got to eat as much Jeju oranges (also called Dekopon) I wanted. Loved it.

I also had some writing to do. So we spent most of the morning eating oranges, writing and watching a mountain though our window.

After lunch we thought of walking around. I knew about Jeju Olle Trail, marked long trails all around Jeju island. If you are in Jeju its a must. Also I think its worth returning to Jeju just to walk. Check Jeju Olle Trail Guide/ for detailed routes, gpx files and other details in English. Anyway it was raining lightly so we thought of walking a few kilometers on Route 6 which included Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market and restaurants. Also what better place to wander around aimlessly other than a local market? Olle market is a food market. They sell local fish, fruits and other food items in the market. So walked around and ate street food. I have some pictures from the market below.

End of the day we had some beer and planned for our next hike.

    I went there in November. Lovely town market and good food. My favorite was a lady selling Fried Chicken with a sweet and sour sauce stirred in it.
