Helsinki or Helsingfors is the capital and largest city of Finland. Thanks to Nokia and Womworld I got a chance to visit Helsinki. After three days of very interesting OpenLab workshop, I had two days to roam around in Helsinki.

Like any backpacker I looked for a Hostel to stay. The Helsinki Stadium Hostel seemed very interesting as it is inside Olympic Stadium complex. The hostel is pretty good (with free wifi) and I got discount as I has YHAI membership.

Weather was awesome. So choose to walk around on day one. Later used trams and local bus.

Helsinki Olympic Stadium is 2kms from the city center and is built for 1948 summer Olympics but used for 1952 Olympics. Just behind the stadium was my hostel.

Venice is a small city in northern Italy. Venezia (in Italian) is also know as city of bridges and city of water. I just got a day to spend at Venice. I know its not enough but something is better than nothing.
The city’s main transport system as you would have guessed is boats. The city also has narrow (aka lot of gallis) streets. It is very easy to get lost in Venice even with a good map. I followed the direction marks inside the city to reach the landmarks. I have lots of pictures with notes so go get your Latte Grande.

View of Grand Canal from the from Ponte dell’Accademia. Its the biggest canal in Venice. You will see many gondolas (Venetian boats) carrying tourists on this canal.

On 5th of July May evening I arrived at small town of Pisa. Like any other small town this too is less crowded and there is nothing much to do other than tower of Pisa. Of course as soon as you see it you know why its called a wonder.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa (Italian: Torre pendente di Pisa) or simply The Tower of Pisa (La Torre di Pisa) is the campanile, or freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa. It is situated behind the Cathedral and it is the third structure by time in Pisa’s Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral Square). The height of the tower is 55.86 m (183.27 ft) from the ground on the lowest side and 56.70 m (186.02 ft) on the highest side. The tower leans at an angle of 3.97 degrees. This means that the top of the tower is 3.9 meters from where it would stand if the tower were perfectly vertical.

I reached Paris by afternoon. Once I checked into the hostel my first visit would be Eiffel tower. So I caught the metro to reach eiffel tower. I could see it from the metro

The Eiffel Tower is an iron tower built on the Champ de Mars beside the Seine River in Paris. The tower has become a global icon of France and is one of the most recognizable structures in the world.
Named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the Eiffel Tower is the tallest building in Paris and one of the most recognized structures in the world. More than 200,000,000 have visited the tower since its construction in 1889, including 6,719,200 in 2006, making it the most visited paid monument in the world. Including the 24 m (79 ft) antenna, the structure is 325 m (1,063 ft) high (since 2000), which is equivalent to about 81 levels in a conventional building.
