Looks like bollywood is slowly has started getting what web2.0 can do for them. Few days back at Filmcamp myself and Sanjay Jha had a long discussion about bollywood and blogging. How much it can cut the PR and newspapers? How much near it can bring the actor to his fans? I have been reading Aamir Khan’s blog ever since he started to blog. I have been his blog’s biggest fan. Of course Aamir was the starting point of my and Sanjay’s discussion ( BTW we met Sanjay on LinkedIn- How cool is that).

I had this dream of Aamir twittering about his life/work. I had left a comment on one of his blog post too. I am not sure if he read it. But looks like Saawariya team picked it up. It was a shocker when EventsBangalore got followed by somebody named Saawariya. Well I did not believe until I got a confirmation.

I am happy to see a main stream movie team picking up non-main stream method to give the details about the movie. Now I don’t have to send an SMS to one of those costly NUMBERS to get updates. All I have to do is follow saawariya on twitter. I get all those tweets on to my mobile. This might be that one reason for me to watch Saawariaya instead of OSO :)

C’était un rendez-vous (It Was an Appointment) is a short film made in 1976 by Claude Lelouch. Its one crazy mad drive in Paris. Its around 8 minutes high speed drive where camera is attached to the bumper ofthe car. Its unedited and one shot. The length of the film was limited to eight minutes since capacity of the camera was only 10 minutes. This short film achieved a cult status amongst youth for speed and recklessness.

From wikipedia: The film shows an eight-minute drive through Paris in the early hours of the morning, accompanied by sounds of a high-revving engine, gear changes and squealing tires. It starts in a tunnel of the Paris Périphérique at Porte Dauphine, with an onboard view from an unseen car exiting up on a ramp to Avenue Foch. Well known landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe, Opéra Garnier, and Place de la Concorde with its obelisk are passed, as well as the Champs-Élysées. Pedestrians are passed, pigeons sitting on the streets are scattered, red lights are ignored, one-way streets are driven up the wrong way, centre lines are crossed, the car runs on a sidewalk to avoid a garbage truck. The car is never seen as the camera seems to be attached below the front bumper, judging from the relative positions of other cars, the visible headlight beam and the final shot when the car is parked in front of curbstones on the Sacre Coeur hill. Here, the driver gets out and embraces a young blonde woman as bells ring in the background.

The first ever FilmCamp comes to an end with a decent satisfaction. FilmCamp produced more success than what I imagined. I can not express my thanks to the effort put by Hrish, Hari and Raghu in simple words; great job guys. They spent days to plan the event. Big thanks also goes to the conventional and non-conventional (aka blogs) media for spreading about event. I appreciate the efforts taken and time spared by Sanjay Jha to attend the event.  And last but not the least thanks to BRTFF community for all the support.
