Coffee Meets

I love catching up with blog readers, friends, colleagues (past and present), and students when you’re in town. If you give me a little heads-up, we can grab a coffee somewhere near the central district and chat about… well, pretty much anything under the sun. If you can’t do physical meet, then we can meet online as well.

Some ideas to get us started

  • Tech & Making – open data, civic tech, self-hosting, privacy, AI experiments, workflow automation, startups, side projects, mapping, GIS, sensors, IoT etc.
  • Travel & Outdoors – motor cycling, road trips, slow travel, nature walks, food.
  • Life & Philosophy – parenthood, adoption, pets, making friends later in life, mindfulness, democracy, Buddhism, Indian philosophy and history, etc
  • Creative & Personal Projects – my daily square photo project, building my wiki, decades of blogging, archiving history.
  • Community & People – teaching, mentoring, and organizing events.
  • Anything else you like?

Rules of Engagement

  • Check the calendar below. It shows my availability. You can block my time there for online meetings. For offline meetings, we will use the same slots. In special cases, for offline meets, we can check other slots if I know well in advance. Send me an email or an XMPP message. If you have my number, you can message me there.
  • I will confirm all slots manually by an additional email. I rarely cancel, but there may be occasions when it happens. Please remember that I am a human being.
  • If we are meeting physically. I prefer central business district or on campus in Bengaluru. But we can always discuss and select a venue that suits us.
  • Ideally an hour to max two hours if we are meeting physically. Half an hour to an hour if we are meeting online.
  • I prefer public coffee places where we can sit and talk. Ask me if you like me to suggest.
  • I don’t mind taking pictures.
  • Coffee’s on me if you bring good conversation. ☕
