Of course Minister
Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid thinks PRISM is nothing to worry about. In his own words
“This is not scrutiny and access to actual messages. It is only computer analysis of patterns of calls and emails that are being sent. It is not actually snooping on specifically on content of anybody’s message or conversation”, Mr. Khurshid, who is currently in Brunei to attend series of ASEAN meetings, told reporters.
“Some of the information they (the US) got out of their scrutiny, they were able to use it to prevent serious terrorist attacks in several countries,” he said.
makes me wonder what was going through his head. But then of course his own government has similar plans in pipeline. May be this just helped him to rehearsal his responses. There too nothing creative, for long states have given us the same old (Terrorists, drug dealers, pedophiles and organized crime) reasons. The thing that shocks me the most is the absence of public debate. May be privacy is not important to us - Indians. Or may be we will have to face another emergency before questioning the states motive.
I will stop my rant here. I think its time to get a gpg key for yourself, also if you haven't seen cypherpunks interview, watch it now.
