I wanted a self-hosted version of the browser’s bookmarks sync system. There are quite a few options. The most appropriate one seems to be xBrowserSync. But even that needs a server-side API setup. It seemed a bit too complex for a simple service and for self-hosting. Then I came across Floccus.

One of the primary jobs as a Data Archivist at DataMeet is to download and archive the data from the internet. Mostly from government websites. I usually use python scripts to download, scrape and clean the data. But sometimes, I just need to download many files and store them. I could still use python, but its an overkill.
