Weekly Notes 29/2024
I was at Fifth Elephant and met many people after a long time. I had great conversations with Kiran from Swetcha, Chaitanya, Yeswanth, Haripriya, Srinivas Kodali, Venkat of Scribble Data, Rasagy, Prashant, etc. I missed OpenDataCamp, which was my place for such things. Maybe in the summer of 2025, we will get to hang out at ODC again, 🤞.
- 🫂 I met my college friends on Sunday. Uthu was in town, so we caught up. I also played snooker for the first time, I think. I was bad :)
- 👨🍼 We applied to adopt our second child. It's a long process and took over three years last time. Hopefully, it will be faster now that COVID-19 is over. If you're thinking about adoption in India, have questions, or just want to chat, please email me. I am happy to talk. I can also introduce you to other parents to get perspectives.
- 💻 My Zenbook's battery failed this week. It would have been easy if it was just a battery failure, but the swollen battery had yanked the connector from the motherboard. I am not well versed in surface mount soldering, so it has to go to a professional. I am currently on LC230. I might have to replace my primary computer by year-end. I have good options like a Framework, System76, or Thinkpad, but the availability and support in India could be a problem.
- 📽 We/I started watching movies on Mubi, the first being While We Watched. It's a must-watch if you are not already angry; it will make you angry. And I also bought the series EKAM, yet to watch it.
- 💻 I am in Mumbai now. I came yesterday for work. It's raining in Mumbai, but it's not bad. The work part went well. I took an hour's break to see Jogeshwari Caves. I should be back in Bengaluru tonight.
Congratulations on ur second child.
We have only applied, it will take couple of years.
Ok
