Weekly Notes 38/2024
The weekend was spent at home celebrating pre-onam and onam. The Onam sadhya was great. I published the whole set of Pooklam arranged by Anju this year.
- So Uma, Anju, and everyone at home have a viral fever. They have been out of service since Wednesday :) I took a couple of days off to babysit the family. It was not hectic but needed attention. I could do some emails and calls, but I couldn't work. It also became a short work week as Monday was a holiday. Next week is going to be a hectic work week, I think.
- There is a new Amul Ice Cream parlor in the neighborhood. It is good. Sometimes, Uma and I visit it during our evening walks; of course, I added it to OSM.
- Some personal travels are coming up, but I need to close many things before we start the trip. It looks like I am going to be extremely busy till the year-end.
- I have about 45,000+ images on WordPress. The numbers have increased significantly as I stopped using Flickr and Instagram. I have not moved old content from either of them here. But whatever used to go there is going to WordPress now. I do have a daily backup from my hosting provider and Jetpack. But I do like to keep some versions on my home server. Downloading the whole zip file every week is painful and wasteful. I have set up a one-way sync from my hosting to a local machine using SFTP over Rclone. It's not a backup, but I will have the latest copy on my drive. I will still download the whole copy once a month or every other month.
