Weekly Notes 47/2024
I struggled with work early this week and mainly couldn't focus well. But by the end of the week, I was okay. I must catch up on my TODO list and ensure I can start well on Monday. On the bright side, Echo is doing much better than last week.
- Appa was here for the weekend. We went to the bank to do mustering. All retired government employees who get pensions should show themselves at their official bank to prove they are alive. There was a promise that this would be digitized. So it could be done online, remotely. But it's still a promise. The new JeevanPramaan has an additional step of collecting biometrics along with details, albeit digitally. To complete this digital process, one still needs to visit a Jeevan Pramaan Centre physically. The new process is more complex than before and seems to solve no problem for pensioners, only making their lives more difficult while easing authorities' work (my guess). No wonder folks are going to their official pension bank to muster the good old way, even though the new promise is LIVE.
- I have restarted the Yoga this month. I was irregular the last few weeks. But I am fully back this week. I plan to practice at home as well. I will keep you updated on how it goes.
- Peppo BLR friends were at home for dinner on Tuesday. A friend is pursuing a different goal. All the very best to her, and we will miss her.
- I have been wax-polishing the wooden furniture at home. I plan to complete it this coming week. I find it fun and fulfilling.
- We watched All We Imagined as Light today. It is good and a must-watch movie of the year. It's in theaters; watch it. Background music and cinematography stood out for me. Of course, the actors were great.
- Update the table of License-Free Bands in India based on the notification of the Government of India, G.S.R. 1047(E). I am interested in PMR446, a global standard for personal mobile radio ( also called Walkie/Talkie) that runs at 446 MHz. It will be fun to use while trekking or at the farm where the mobile connection doesn't exist. And it's a standard across the world.
- I had plans to write a hundred posts this year. There is a good chance that I will reach that goal. On the reading side, it isn't good. I have read only one book this year, I think.
