What is My Political View in 2025?
I am quite politically engaged and follow it with genuine interest. So I need to understand where I stand using a consistent set of parameters. Sometime in 2009, I came across The Political Compass, which felt like a good fit for this purpose. Since then, I’ve been taking the survey from time to time and noting the results on this blog, for both my readers and myself.
Some of my answers have likely changed over the years, either due to new experiences or a deeper understanding of the issues. Even the extent to which I agree or disagree with certain ideas might have shifted. Taking the survey periodically helps capture how, and if, I’ve changed over time.
The last one I did was in 2014, which was high time. With that note, here is the survey result from 2025.

As you see, I am still in the same quadrant. Economic Left, Social Libertarian. Also, I am more or less in the center of that quadrant. At the same time, India itself has moved to the opposite quadrant, at least socially, i.e, Economic Right, Social Authoritarian. When you get time, read the HRW/2025 report and Heritage’s Economic Freedom.

I have also added the graphs of popular people and countries above to give you an idea. You can read more on their site.
