A container for all my views with excerpts from technology, travel, films, books, kannada, friends and other interests. I am Thejesh GN, friends call me Thej.
Last week I was in Jakarta for a short visit. Indonesia feels so much like India. Its multi cultural, loves coffee and food. I didn't get much time to travel but got enough time to interact with Indonesians in Jakarta, their traffic, Internet startups, malls and food. I have some pictures from the streets of Jakarta which hopefully shows some of these things. But my first impression of Indonesia is that of soft spoken, friendly people who love people, culture and food.

Old Town White Coffee and Toast
Es Kelapa Gula Aren (coconut sugar palm ice)
I don't remember the name. But tastes like vada, made from corn.
This one tastes like rice sandige
GO-JEK Indonesia, motor cycle taxi driver.
GO-JEK is probably the most popular way to get around in Jakarta. Here the driver had stopped for tea.
These modified bike carriers are also very popular.
No thats not metro. Its bus lane.
You will see quite a bit of kids on the street, just like India. Here they are pushing a car.
Cats everywhere in Jakarta
Sweet Snacks for Kids. Sold on the street.
A small time vegetable shop
On a road side shop I saw these home made masala packs. Makes cooking easy.
Singapore Mutton Biriyaani in Indonesia
Sup Tum Yum + Jamur Shimeji + UDON Noodle + Chicken at I-ta Suki
That's airport. It unlike any I have seen. Beautiful
It's Asian Games this year at Jakarta.
