Run almost everything from your USB drive

If you work on multiple desktops like at college , home or cyber cafe. Then you will always notice the difference in settings of the software. Or some of your favourite software may be missing. This usually happens to me when I visit a browsing center. I always miss FireFox. And it is painful to download it for a single usage.
But now there are portable versions of our favourite software. They can run from your usb drive with out any installation. The list of portable apps include Firefox, Thunderbird, Keepass,Putty
, Audacity, VLC , Gaim and many more.

A portable app is a computer program that you can carry around with you on a portable device and use on any Windows computer. When your USB flash drive, portable hard drive, iPod or other portable device is plugged in, you have access to your software and personal data just as you would on your own PC. And when you unplug the device, none of your personal data is left behind.

All of them all Open Source software ( few of them are freewares). Hence there are no license issues in using them. There are bunch of software available as a suite. Which is around 100MB download. It gives you everything to run a mobile office.
