Seven months of Blogging at ThejeshGN.com

Its been seven months I started blogging at ThejeshGN.com. This blog was initially on techmag and got moved to this domain this April. TechMag remains completely tech oriented now. Since april this domain has been my mouthpiece. Here are some stats about this blog and some targets to achieve.

  • As of today page rank is 3. I would like it to be 5 in an years time.
  • 140 posts with 300 comments. On an average two per post.
  • Alexa traffic rank as of today is 1,458,828. Would like to break into top 500000 sites in an years time.
  • 40+ RSS feed and 10+ email subscribers.Go ahead subscribe to get the latest posts as soon as they get published. I need at least 250+ by next year.
  • Ranks No#1 on Google for "Thejesh GN". I want it to be No#1 for both Thejesh and Thej

Numbers are not bad for seven months. But there is lots to improve.

I thought the overall Google page ranking is no more applicable. Google now has page ranking for sites according to keywords. eg as u said you have the highest page rank for the keyword ‘Thejesh GN’ but a lesser rank for Thejesh and Thej.

I guess overall pagerank still matters when you search or when you want pull advt.

For Example: For thejesh TechMag comes before thejeshgn.com. TechMag is pr4 and thejeshgn.com which comes next is pr3.

For search results pr is just one of the criteria. Others like
    >how many links with keyword as the anchor text
    >Whats the text in the domain name
    etc matters

Doesnt it still say that there are different prs for different keywords? well i dont know. I read it somewhere. i never bothered about my pr coz i never understood how they worked :-) sorry if i’m wrong

I read this some time back

I am sure PR is not yet dead. Google is bright enough to upgrade it before PR reaches that point.
We all thought Alexa is dead. But I can still see people using it to measure the site performance.
