Day 4: Watching Sunrise at Gangneung

As planned we took the train from Cheongnyangni Station (Seoul) at 23:30 and reached Jeondongjin Station at 4:30. Sunrise was at 6:30 so we had to wait for couple of hours. The station doesn't have a locker room. We really didn't want to carry our luggage everywhere. So we freshened up in the station bathroom and went out in search for a coffee and place to keep our luggage. Well there is a shop opposite to station. The lady from the shop agreed to keep our luggage for couple of hours also had a coffee shop.

I must say this railway station is really small and is almost inside beach. There are taps outside the station to wash yourself if you directly land up in station from beach.

I was hungry by then and also were supposed to take our luggage back. So we went to the shop had our our breakfast. It was the most delicious ramen I have ever had.

Then we took an hour long from there to Gangneung Intercity Bus Terminal. The bus terminal has lockers. So we left our our luggage there so we could explore the city and also it was the station from where we were supposed to catch a bus to Sokcho, so it worked out well. From there we went to our first beach Gyeongpo Beach. It was cold so we couldn't get into water. But its a long, clean and beautiful beach. We walked around.

Beach also had a letter box with free post cards, writing desk and postbox. All you need to bring is stamps. So obviously we sent our first post card from Korea.

Best thing to have in a beach, free post cards, writing desk and postbox. You need to bring your own stamps though

From there we went to Anmok Beach famous for its coffee street. Ofcourse the street has many cafes, one after another. OpenStreetMap didn't have any so I added bunch of them.

We had lunch there. My lunch didn't go that well. I was allergic to something in that. So I stopped eating in the middle. Nothing major.

That's my lunch.

Then we caught the bus to Sokcho. In an hour we reached Sokcho. But our hotel was near Seoraksan, which is an hour away by local bus. Google maps said no buses after 6pm, for a second we paniked, but as usual Google was wrong. We got the bus and then we reached our motel Honeymoon House. Its close to Seoraksan National Park were we plan hike next day.
