Weekly Notes 14/2024

We are back in Bangalore. We spent almost a week in Bali celebrating Uma's first birthday. We walked quite a bit. I wrote about two of them (Ubud and Sanur). I was doubtful if we could walk with Uma in Bali's heat, but we could, and she did well. They were tiring (good tiring kind) but delightful walks. It was a good vacation after a long time.

  • 🐕 We missed Echo and Pathu terribly. Uma was friendly to every dog on the street, and there are lots of friendly dogs in Bali. She talked to every dog she saw.
  • 🌞 It seems like Bengaluru has become hotter in one week. In the last two weeks, the average inside the home temperature has gone from 28 to 30. In Jan, it was around 26. My work table gets morning sun; I feel like I am working without shade now. And the heat remains captured for the rest of the day. Only after the evening does it get a little cooler. Maybe I should shift the table in summer, but I like the light and breeze.
  • 👨🏻‍💻 Getting back to work after a vacation is hard. Even though I had done all the work before going on vacation, somehow, once you are back, there is always a pile of work :)
  • 🕸️ I have a new reading list called Carnatic Music and Caste System. If you are interested, you can follow that JSONFeed in any feedreader. I will keep adding to it as I find more. There is also a simple HTML view if you prefer that.
  • 🏡 Construction is coming along well at TVC. Hopefully, by winter 2024, the house will be ready. Fingers crossed.
