Weekly Notes 36/2024

We are in Thrissur, and Onam is here. It marks the harvest season and the return of the mythical King Mahabali. It's a ten-day celebration for the whole of Kerala. So, lots of food and family time. The last time we were in Thrissur for Onam was in 35/2022. Time runs so fast when you count in years. Anju has started putting Pookalam. I will post the whole gallery at the end like last time, but here are the first two.

  • ⏳ Most of Saturday, we were busy packing and closing on the things that needed to be completed before we could be away for a month. I also picked up Yamaha from the garage but hardly got to ride. I can't wait to go back and do a three-digit ride.
  • 🛣 We drove on Sunday. We reached Thrissur in about 11 hours, with a couple of breaks for the baby and dogs. As we reached Thrissur, someone hit our car from behind in bumper-to-bumper traffic. The backdoor got damaged, and Pathu was a bit scared, but everyone was safe. It took 10 to 15 minutes to get the other car's insurance details. The conversation was surprisingly pleasant and productive for Indian roads. Hopefully, Kia will fix it in time. Usually, these things take more time than estimated.
  • 😎 Anju's mother had an eye surgery. Everything went well.
  • 🤦‍♂️ I forgot to wish my friend a happy birthday but suddenly remembered in the middle of the week at 10 PM. I sent him a message right away instead of waiting for the best time to call. I remembered his birthday but delayed wishing, trying to find the perfect time to call him, and ended up forgetting :(
  • 🧑‍💻 September is a month of multiple deliveries at work for me—quite a few new things to start work on. Lots of things are waiting to be completed and go live. It's going to be hectic. Ideally, I want to close everything in September and take a week off in October.
  • 👨‍🍼 Uma's main activity here is watching people. She likes standing at the gate, waving, and talking to people. Now the Echo has a company. Her schedule has also gone for a toss, primarily because of a change in place and weather. She isn't sleeping that well. Hopefully, she will settle down this week.
