Weekly Notes 48/2024

This week has been better than last week. I made good progress on the work front. I will be in Mumbai next week for work. Do ping me if you are around. We can probably get some coffee.

  • I was late to the Bengaluru OSM mapping party on Saturday. I reached at 11 AM when they had completed the mapping. But then I got to have breakfast with them. I also walked back to Chinmaya Mission Hospital and mapped several CCTV cameras. So it was all good.
  • I had breakfast with friends on Sunday at Four Seasons. The Bangalore Science Gallery was close by, so I paid a visit. Currently, they have an exhibition called sci560, which focuses on Science+Bengaluru. It's a good watch if you like Bangalore and Science. Also, I got to see some Simputers.
  • I wrote a short review on my riding boots. TLDR: I like them.
  • I do love coffee on church street; there are many options. But if you want good filter coffee, Chalukya Samrat Cafe is probably the best place. I met Peppo's friends there this week.
  • I started Tejo Tungabadra (Kannada Novel). I have not read a decent-sized book in the last twelve months. So it's kind of hard to focus. I could read 100+ pages in one go before, but now I could hardly do 50 plus. It's pretty sad, but I should regain speed as I read more.
  • Uma was under the weather for a couple of days. She has recovered. Echo is still on his way to full recovery.
  • I am reaching the final stages of my dental work, which started as a two-year project and is now close to four years.
  • I added a Wiki page about PMR446 license-free walkie-talkies. They are useful when traveling, hiking, or working in remote areas. I have a pair now. I am just documenting notes, tips, etc, for my use :)
  • Congratulations to Pooja on one year of Weekly Notes; this occasion also lead to a good conversation about Weekly Notes on Mastadon.
