David MacMillan and James Robinson at IISc

You don’t often get the chance to hear Nobel Laureates live. When the opportunity arose in the form of the Nobel Prize Dialogue, The Future We Want, I applied. I wasn’t expecting to receive an invitation. I had assumed that this would for young people and they would prefer folks under 30. The basic premise was to inspire the younger folks. But they did invite folks who are young at heart as well :) And the JN Tata auditorium at IISc was packed.

Loved the talks by David MacMillan (chemistry 2021) and James Robinson (economic sciences 2024). Both were inspiring. There were other talks too, but these two were the stars of the day. There was also a pleasant surprise for the audience in the form of Kavita Krishnamurthy and L Subramaniam performing to kick off the day.
