Weekly Notes 04/2026
I have a sore throat and a cold. I think I got it from Uma, and she got it from school. I have also been talking a lot in meetings this week, and that’s not helping. Also, it’s very cold.

- Spent some time debugging cold-start issues with Yamaha(Red). It wasn’t a big issue in the end. Anyway, I am happy that I was able to reach a logical conclusion. I have also started taking Uma for joyrides in the neighborhood. Uma’s aunt (aka my sister) started it, and she also got her a yellow helmet. She loves it and the rides too. So we have been doing at least one round every day now. She gets ready like a pro motocyclist for the ride.
- I have been doing some video experiments. I seem to have found decent settings to release videos. Expect more screencasts.
- I have been using Figma at work because that’s what designers use these days. But I am slowly moving to Penpot. Once I am comfortable, I think make my designers use it too.
- Gradia by Alexander Vanhee is a fantastic tool for screencasting and annotating images. Currently, it’s my primary screenshotting tool. It has replaced Shutter as it works only on X11.
- Driving to APU and back is crazy. Otherwise, it’s been great. The campus is amazing. A little more green would make it much better, but it’s on its way, I think. Also, being closer to Muthanalluru makes it a bit nostalgic.
- This week at work has been hectic, with a lot of meetings and coordination, which tires me out more than creation.
- I didn’t paint anything this week. But I hope to get back, complete #30DaysOfWatercoloring, and continue.
- I did one P.T this week. I am getting back to it after a week’s break. We are slowly starting weights. I have been doing stretching as soon as I wake up, and it’s helping quite a bit, too.
- I cooked some ragi mudde over the weekend for lunch. I followed this guys instruction. His instructions are very clear and quite good.
