Weekly Notes 07/2026

It was a busy week. I think it will be until the end of March, till we start our vacation. I managed to workout (P.T.) twice and play once this week. Time spent on reading, media consumption, and painting have been almost zero.

Now working as school vehicle.
  • I wrote a very personal blog post about my journey to being pain-free. It took me almost 8 months to be pain-free and almost a year to build confidence to do anything physical.
  • I have been experimenting with a set of license-free walkie-talkies and wrote a blog post about them this week.
  • NMG gained a new supporter in FOSS United. I am very happy to have them. This year’s grant pool is now 5 Lakhs.
  • I was at IndieWebClub Meetup at Underline Center. Uma was also there. She had a great time. It was good to put names to the numbers in the chat. There is a community webring and an OPML list if you are looking for new blogs to read. I am yet to update my blog ring. But I will. I have a ton of interesting blogs to add.
  • I am loving teaching and interacting in a physical classroom. Don’t get me wrong, I love online classes. This is a new experience, so I’m finding it interesting.
  • I added more details to the Coffee Meets Page (Which is similar to Open Office but more casual), along with a calendar now. I need a better appointment booking system app; for now, Google Calendar it is. If you ever want to get a coffee with me, you can use that page or email me.
  • I might have bought a couple of pieces of motorcycling gear. I have to use it before I can write about them.
  • If you are an audio file hoster, i.e., in simple words, a musician or a podcaster who distributes audio files online, then Faircamp looks amazing and simple, a self-hosting service. You can build a really nice website with that. There is this beautiful hack of using Floppy Disks to play things on TV, it’s very tempting. The farthest I have gone in this area is tapping the NFC tag on a phone to play music, just because it’s fun. Maybe I will make a version of it for Uma. Mixtapes by DNA Lounge in SF is one of the ways I discover the kind of music that I usually don’t listen to. But I have found a few artists from there, who are on my playlist now.
