AWA 2: Angkor Wat and other temples

We spent most of the day today walking and watching temples. We didn’t plan to cover everything since I have two folks in their seventies. We must have still walked at least seven to eight kilometers. We explored the Angkor Wat, Bayon, and Ta Prohm Temple complexes. We started at 5 AM, thinking...

AWA 1: AngkorWithAppa - Siem Reap 1

AWA 1: AngkorWithAppa begins and we are in Siem Reap

Weekly Notes 24/2024

Appa turned seventy this week. Appa is reasonably fit for his age. Hopefully, I will be as active and physically healthy as he is when I turn seventy. He is pretty excited about his upcoming trip. Amma would have also turned seventy this week. They are a few days apart. I miss her.

Summer is here. It's been very, very hot outside. Usually, I like to walk to neighborhood shops, parks, etc. It's been almost impossible, except for some streets that are blessed with trees. 1

Weekly Notes 12/2024

It’s union election time in India. The results are going to be in June. Given we have a fascist right-wing party in power now, the next two and half months will be unbearable. Social media will be at its worst; WhatsApp has been and will be the source of all kinds of fake news....

Bathtub 1

Bathtime with My Little One

When Uma came home, one of the most frequently asked questions was, who would bathe her? I wasn’t sure what the answer folk were expecting. But in the general answer was Thej. Then, I realized that people fear handling babies, especially while bathing them, and they are extra doubtful if it’s a man, probably for all the right reasons.
