ಮುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲೂರು ಬಿಟ್ಟರೂ, ಅಮ್ಮ ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆಗಾಗ ಹೋಗುವುದು ಇದ್ದೇ ಇತ್ತು. ಅಮ್ಮ ಆ ಊರಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೆರಡೋ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ಮೂರೋ ವಯಸ್ಸು. ಅಮ್ಮನಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಂತಿಕೆ, ಸಂಬಳ, ಗೌರವ, ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರು, ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಮುಂದೆ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಊರದು. ಅದು ಅಮ್ಮನಿಗೆ ಮರು ಹುಟ್ಟು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಊರು ಅಂತಲೆ ಅವಳ ಭಾವನೆ. ಈಗ ೨೦೧೭ರ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂಟಿ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಮನೆ ಬಾಡಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲು ಯೋಚನೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಮನಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಇರುವಾಗ, ಆಗ ಚಿಕ್ಕರಾಮರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಹಾಗು ಚೆನ್ನಕ್ಕ...
ನನಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ಬಾಲ್ಯದ, ಅಮ್ಮನ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ಅಂದರೆ ಶಾಲೆ. ನನ್ನ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲ ನನ್ನಮ್ಮನ ಶಾಲೆ. ನಾವಾಗ ಇದ್ದದ್ದು ಆನೇಕಲ್ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಮುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲೂರು ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ. ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಮ್ಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕಿ. ಅದೇ ಊರಿನ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪ್ಪ ಕಾಂಪೌಂಡರ್. ಆ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಬೇಬಿ ಸಿಟ್ಟಿಂಗ್ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಮಗ್ಯಾವ ನೆಂಟರು ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಹಾಯಕಿಯನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಷ್ಟು ಸ್ಥಿತಿವಂತರೇನಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದರೆ ಅಂಗನವಾಡಿ ಇತ್ತು. ಅದನ್ನ ನೋಡಿಕೋಳ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದವರು ರತ್ನಮ್ಮನವರು. ನಂತರ ಅವರು ಅಮ್ಮನ...
