This year, 2024, will be the seventh year of the grant. I am pleased that I was able to sustain it. I am grateful to friends (Nemo, Gangadhar, Shweta) and other anonymous folks who have joined me on this journey with additional grant support. I am also thankful to all the applicants and grantees who have been part of this journey in one way or another. It’s one of those things I do every year that makes me very happy.
It took some time, but finally, the results are here. It was much more challenging than last year. There were many eligible and exciting applications. But I have limited funds. 2023 is going to be our sixth edition of NMG. Yes, we have already completed five years, and some of the grantees have done some fantastic work. I have taken up the task of collating stories of those outstanding grantees and their work. Maybe we all get to read it sometime this year, but I digress. The 2023 grant application is open. We have the top ten decided, so we have to do a final round to pick the top two or three. It is possible to do it this month. So the date for the announcement of grantees is July 31st. I am as excited as you are.
Nagarathna Memorial Grant is a no-strings-attached grant of one lakh rupees (~$1400). It’s a micro-grant targeted at everyone. 2022 grant application is open.
