I have been using apps to track my baby’s progress. I mostly use self-hostable web apps that I can host on my home server or Android apps that work offline. All of which are FOSS. Except for the Milestone tracking apps :( They are not FOSS, but they are taxpayer-funded and freely available.

When Uma came home, one of the most frequently asked questions was, who would bathe her? I wasn’t sure what the answer folk were expecting. But in the general answer was Thej. Then, I realized that people fear handling babies, especially while bathing them, and they are extra doubtful if it’s a man, probably for all the right reasons.

On most days, Uma wakes up before me at around 6:15 AM. Her usual thing is to play by herself, making loud baby sounds. When I wake up, the first thing I see is her, smiling directly at me with wide eyes.
