ಕುವೆಂಪು ಅವರು ಮನುಜ ಮತ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶ್ವಪಥದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಈಗಷ್ಟೇ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದು. ಇದುವರೆಗೆ ಇವುಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಾನು ಅವರ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಓದಿದ್ದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ, ನಾನು ಲಿಪ್ಯಂತರ(? transcribe) ಮಾಡಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಿಸಲು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ದಸರಾ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು, ಭಾರತದ ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯವಾದ ನಂತರ ನಾಡ ಹಬ್ಬ ಎಂದು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ (GoK) ಜನರ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಹಣದಿಂದ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಹಳೆಯ ಅರಸರ ಅಥವ ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವುದೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವಲ್ಲ. ವಾಸ್ತವದಲ್ಲಿ, ಹಳೆಯ ಅರಸರ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಖಾಸಗಿ ದರ್ಬಾರನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅವಕಾಶವಿದೆ.

What a hectic week it has been. It was filled with a lot of pending work from last week and new work from this week. I am doing okay work-wise and otherwise, too. All of us have recovered. The business of life should return to normalcy in a couple of weeks.
So, when you don’t believe in God or follow a specific religion, what do you celebrate with others? Just because I’m not religious doesn’t mean I’m anti-social—I still want to spend time with family and friends, which often happens around religious festivals. Lately, I’ve been thinking about turning religious festivals into social events....
People who know me already know this in some form or other. But this makes it official. The religion I was born into never made sense. Actually, as of now, none of them make any sense to me. So it’s NULL now.
