Weekly Notes 40/2023

We are in Thrissur today. We are here for 3 to 4 weeks as we do almost every quarter. This time, it’s special as it’s the baby’s first long drive. I thought it would be challenging, but it was much easier than I thought. We took additional baby breaks; otherwise, all five of us reached Thrissur comfortably. The car now looks like an overlander. It’s now ready to take us anywhere for a longer period of time; It needs a blog of its own.

Portable PoIs across Apps

Today, many apps across platforms (web, android, ios, car) use location (lat, lng) or address as the starting point. But there is no single source of truth for my PoIs shared across various apps. For example, I need to store “HOME” on Google Maps, Uber, Ola, and other apps. If you shift, then you will have to update everywhere. There is no way to sync.

Weekly Notes 32/2023

What an exciting week. I am not at liberty to write a lot at this time. I will write about it in detail later. But for now, I can only say it’s been a life-changing year for us.

Road Trips With Dogs

I have been driving around with my pets for some time—short and long. I have driven them around for eight to ten thousand cumulative. Most drives have been to Thrissur. They have been doing well. It took us time to develop a standard process to drive with them.

Weekly Notes 08/2023

I have been a professional engineer for 20 years now. I started in Jan/2003 as a Software Engineer for Infosys and Mysore. It was my first paid job. Ideally, I should have written about it in Weekly Notes 02/2023; I somehow missed it. Anyway, It’s been an exciting 20 years, and I hope I have another 20 years in me. I want to cover aspects of it separately throughout this year.

Weekly Notes 06/2023

We sold the blue. It was my first car. We got it in Mar/2006, almost 17 years. I loved this blue WagonR, not just me, but my entire family and friends loved blue. We have very fond memories of it.
