Go out and enjoy the best weather and air of Bangalore

I have a ntfy notification that sends me a message between 6 pm and 9 pm if the air is bad in our bedroom. That way, I can switch on the air purifier at least 60 mins before we sleep. For the last few weeks, I wasn't getting alerts. Like any self-hoster, I wondered if my systems were up and working.

So there is nothing wrong with my notifier as I get my daily dose of poems. So I checked if the Home Assistant is doing well. It's up and working, with no visible errors in the automation. So finally, I checked if my AQI sensor. It looked good. There is historical data, but then for some reason, the AQI dropped a lot in early June and held that position till today.

That means my sensors have gone bad or air quality has improved significantly. To confirm, I went and checked other online sources of air quality. June, July, and Aug have consistently been great months in terms of AQI in Bangalore. I missed this trend before. There is enough evidence to prove that rain removes pollutants from the atmosphere, a process usually called precipitation scavenging

Even in terms of weather, June, July, and Aug are great in Bangalore. You get decent sun during the day; it rains in the evening or night—overall pleasant weather.

So wear a jacket or carry an umbrella and go out. It's the best time to be outside in Bangalore.

On a side note: It will be great to pull the last ten years' data and do some real comparison.
